The UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in electrical systems, equipment and technologies used across residential, commercial and industrial environments. Throughout the course, students develop capabilities in electrical testing, fault-finding, maintenance, workplace safety, electrical principles, sustainable energy practices and the interpretation of electrical drawings, standards and specifications. Training combines theoretical learning with extensive practical workshop activities using industry-standard tools and equipment to develop job-ready electrotechnology skills. CTA delivers this qualification in a simulated workplace environment, providing students with hands-on experience and practical training aligned with current industry expectations. This qualification is designed to provide students with knowledge and practical skills that may support entry into a range of electrotechnology-related support, workshop, manufacturing and technical environments. Students are responsible for securing their own industry placement in a relevant electrotechnology workplace role. CTA does not arrange or guarantee industry placement opportunities. Students are also required to complete 1,040 hours of industry placement as an Electrical Trade Assistant or in a relevant electrotechnology workplace role to meet course completion requirements. This placement provides valuable real-world industry experience and supports the practical application of skills and knowledge developed throughout the course.
