CPC31320 - Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling provides a solid framework for future work in residential and commercial Tiling work. The Qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, wall and floor tiling. Tilers work with materials like ceramic, glass, slate, marble and clay. They cut these materials and lay tiles on walls and floors, both interior and exterior. They may also add decorative touches to their basic work.
To achieve this Qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in 20 units of competency:
Students must be above 18 years of age.
To enter into the courses delivered at CTA, applicants should have successfully completed year 12 or secondary studies in the applicant's home country which is equivalent to the Australian senior secondary school examination.

Mature Age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements considering they have relevant work experience within the chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet the course requirements. A minimum of 2 years’ experience would normally be expected; however, each case will be reviewed individually with relevant work experience evidence and work sample photos. Such learners will be accessed for possible RPL opportunities and their course duration and volume of learning will be adjusted accordingly, if any RPL is granted.
English proficiency at an IELTS overall band score 6.0 or above or Upper Intermediate ELICOS Course Certificate from Australia or similar.
Students undertaking this course at CTA must possess sound Numeracy skills since it requires them to do calculations or any other course related work. To determine this, all students wanting to study with us are required to undertake the LLN Test prior to the commencement of the course. Based on the test outcome, students may be identified as requiring external support services.
The LLN test will be conducted on campus by using an ACSF mapped online LLN assessment tool - LLN Robot.
Students are asked to undertake a language, literacy and numeracy test (LLN) test and achieve expected performance level of ACSF level 3 for CPC31320- Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling
Classroom based Face to Face theory and practical at Williamstown campus.

These training programs are competency based which means that training and assessment focus on the development and recognition of a person’s ability to apply relevant knowledge and skills to perform workplace tasks to a specified standard.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Daniel has spent virtually all his working life in the construction industry. He completed his apprenticeship aged 20, under the guidance of trained and qualified Australian builders. He continued his career in the construction industry before venturing into training people through Registered Training Organisations. Daniel has extensive knowledge arising from the TAE40116 -Training and Assessing Course. He is fully averse to the internal operations of the college, understanding how to evaluate and structure classroom sessions for students.
Daniel has operated a functional college office for up to 250 students at a time. Before starting CTA, Daniel ran his own business specialising in bathroom and kitchen renovations. He has extensive knowledge of the units in the CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry and has other qualified trainers in the CPC31320 - Wall and Floor Tiling course which intend to pass their knowledge onto CTA students.
